Bill Gustin, Partner at Shiptronix

An operator first

Bill Gustin is a partner at Shiptronix, a technology advisory and services firm in Belleair Bluffs, Florida. He is not a consultant who read about AI. He is an operator who uses it every day to run real businesses, and Shiptronix exists because the systems he built for his own companies turned out to be exactly what other operators wanted.

He owns and runs a family of consumer product brands sold on Amazon, direct-to-consumer stores and retail partners: portable solar power, marine security, automotive accessories and tactical gear. He handles the hard parts himself, from overseas manufacturing, customs and freight to Amazon advertising, inventory planning and the numbers behind all of it. He also invests through his own holding company.

He builds what he sells

Every morning, a pipeline Bill designed pulls sales, ad spend, inventory and finance data from more than a dozen accounts across Amazon, Google Ads, Shopify and QuickBooks into one database. An AI reviews it all and flags products about to run out and channels that are slipping, before his partners finish their first coffee.

He built this website, its guides, its contact system and its publishing pipeline with Claude Code, with no development team. He connects AI to the systems companies actually run on (Outlook, Google Workspace, SharePoint, Shopify, QuickBooks, Amazon, ad platforms, Cloudflare and n8n) and packages repeat work into reusable AI skills: ad account audits, cross-channel marketing reviews, monthly time reconstruction and building code plan review. His AI phone assistant places calls for him and emails back a summary of every conversation.

His signature is the feedback loop. Bill does not build automations that run blind. He builds systems where AI reads the history, pulls in outside data, makes a decision and then measures the result against what people actually did, so the system gets better every week.

Both sides of the deal

Bill has worked both sides of the table. Shiptronix runs technology and commercial due diligence for private equity firms, including customer and industry interviews and competitive benchmarking, and Bill advises business owners on buying and selling companies.

That shapes how he looks at technology: the way a buyer will. What does it cost, what is the risk, and what does it actually do for the business? Clients get advice from someone who has to live with the answer in his own companies.

What he works on with clients

Based in the Bay Area (the other one)

Bill works with clients across the United States from the Bay Area. Not that one. Tampa Bay, where the AI works just as well, the rent is lower and the sunsets over the Gulf come standard. The fastest way to reach him is the contact form. You can also read his practical guides in Resources or connect with him on LinkedIn.
